Despoina Achladiotou (1890–1982), known as the Lady of Ro, was a heroic figure of the Greek Resistance during World War II.
For 39 years, she raised the Greek flag every morning and lowered it at sunset on the small island of Ro. She was honored by multiple institutions, including the Academy of Athens and the Hellenic Navy. Her statue stands in Horafia Square, while her tomb lies on the island of Ro, alongside her home and a small chapel dedicated to St. George.
